Upgrades enable offsite control of alarm as well as remotely viewable CCTV
H & A Mechanical is a company of over 200 employees providing services in the areas of building works, kitchens, bathrooms, refurbishment, external cyclical maintenance, electrical and renewable energy.
The Challenge
We provide and maintain their CCTV and intruder alarm services at their HQ and depots around Ireland. During a routine intruder alarm service at their Depot in Co. Kildare, an issue with the CCTV digital video recorder was identified.
Our Solution
An engineer conducting scheduled alarm maintenance assessed the digital video recorder and concluded the boot sector of the operating system was corrupted, so it was taken back to our offices the same day and placed on the bench for further diagnostic testing. After diagnosis, and discussing with the customer how they needed round the clock remote surveillance of this satellite depot, an upgraded and IP-networked Hi-definition Hikvision digital recorder was installed, which would interface with the existing, recently updated, Pyronix intruder alarm system. With both the intruder alarm and CCTV working together, events in Kildare could be assessed from Draperstown HQ, or wherever the operator happens to be with a smartphone, and appropriate action, if any, taken immediately.
